The Best Sources Of Protein For Vegetarians & Vegans

A common worry with people wanting to become vegan or vegetarian is that they won’t be able to get their desired amount of protein. However, did you know, protein actually doesn’t even come from animals! The animals eat the vegetation and we then eat the animals who have eaten the protein packed vegetation. Animals are merely the middle men when it comes to protein.

Watch the two videos at the bottom of this article to find out more on protein coming from the plants, NOT the animals.

Humans can get ALL that they need nutritionally through plants, fruits and vegetables. However, some obviously carry a lot more protein in them than others so here are a few of the best ones…

  • Tofu
  • Lentils
  • Soya
  • Beans & Chickpeas
  • Nutritional Yeast
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Spirulina
  • Quinoa
  • Oats
  • Chia Seeds
  • Wild Rice
  • Nuts & Nut Butters
  • Fruits – bananas, mulberries, blackberries and nectarines

You can easily get the right amount of protein in your diet, even if you are vegan or vegetarian. You really don’t need meat to do this. In fact, by not having meat, the protein you are getting is much cleaner and higher concentrated. It’s all about having a varied diet to ensure you’re getting a bit of everything in your diet.
